Thank you.

The Urban Street Symposium is intended to provide a forum for comparison and debate of alternative urban street design practices; highlight discussion on problems caused by certain design practices, and identify alternatives; examine long-held urban street design practices in light of the "new urbanism" movement; document better urban street design practices; sharing of experience and innovations; transfer urban street research findings to state and local agencies; and case studies and workshops on "how to do it".

This Symposium will bring together individuals and representatives of agencies with experience or interest in urban street design and operations and will provide a unique opportunity for participants to exchange information and explore the myriad of issues that must be addressed.

The following TRB committees will hold midyear meetings of the full committee and various subcommitte meetings prior to and during the Symposium (please refer to the preliminary agenda for details):

  • A1D07-The Committee on Access Management
  • A2A02-The Committee on Geometric Design
  • A3A08-The Committee on Operational Effects of Geometrics
