This year’s TRB Midyear Committee Meetings will again bring together two committees with related interests.

A5001: CONDUCT OF RESEARCH
Chair: Laurie McGinnis

Committee Scope: To increase the quality and effectiveness of research through encouragement of better planning, management, and operational practices by organizations engaged in transportation research programs and to assist the Transportation Research Board in its role of stimulating research and serving as a national clearinghouse for research activities.

A5012: TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
Chair: Cheri Marti

Committee Scope: To facilitate and strengthen the information exchange, knowledge of, and research on the processes and methods for technology transfer, and assisting the Transportation Research Board and its research community in its role as an agent for effective technology transfer.

Meeting Information

The Meeting registration fee is $195.00 per person for those registered by Friday, August 29, 2003 and $225.00 for those registered afterward. The fee includes all breaks, three breakfasts, three lunches, the Wednesday Reception and New England Clambake Dinner.

Spouses and Guests are welcome to attend the Wednesday New England Clambake Dinner. The fee is $50.00 per person. Register your spouse/guest (only) under the guest field.

If you know someone who would be a valuable asset to this event, please enter their contact information in the 'Send this invitation' section of the registration form.

Refunds will be issued, less a $25.00 cancellation fee, for all cancellations received in writing by Friday, August 29, 2003. No refunds will be issued thereafter.


Hotel Information

The Falmouth Inn, in Falmouth, Massachusetts, is approximately four miles from the Woods Hole meeting facility. To make a reservation at the TRB special rate of $103.00 (per night, plus 10% tax), call National Academies Travel at 800-801-6696, option 2 (202-334-3032 outside the U.S.), and reference Event Code 31653.

Reservations must be made by Friday, August 29, 2003 to qualify for the above-mentioned rate. After this date, or when the block is full, rooms are subject to availability and may be at a higher rate.

Transportation Information

The two major airports serving the Cape Cod area are:
Car rentals are available at both airports. If you plan to rent a car, Providence is the most convenient airport to use; it is easy to access, and it is a 1.5-hour drive to the Woods Hole/Falmouth area. Shuttle service is also available to Falmouth from T.F. Green or Logan airports through Bonanza Bus Lines, Inc. (800-556-3815).

The nearest local airport is Barnstable Airport in Hyannis, MA, which is approximately 25 miles from the Woods Hole/Falmouth area. Several airlines operate air shuttle service from Boston to Barnstable Airport, and AMTRAK offers direct service from New York City to the airport. Car rentals are available during business hours.

Driving directions are available directly from the hotel. There is no charge for parking at the hotel.
