Review of Federal Highway Administration’s Oversight Efforts for States’ Use of Federal-Aid Funds

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Inspector General has released a report that examines the level of competition for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act contracts awarded by state departments of transportations (DOTs), evaluates the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) policies and guidance for awarding federal-aid contracts, and assesses FHWA’s oversight of state DOT contracting practices.
