Become a TRB Affiliate or Sponsor

Benefits of Supporting TRB’s Technical Activities Division
Become a continuing TRB affiliate or sponsor and take advantage of exclusive benefits.
Depending on your level of participation, affiliate and sponsor program benefits can include:

  • Complimentary TRB publications
  • Conference and workshop registration fee discounts
  • Subscriptions to TRNews—TRB’s bimonthly magazine
  • Annual Meeting exhibit space, and more

TRB Affiliates
Individual Affiliates are interested in receiving and subscribing to TRB publications, but individual affiliates are also eligible to receive other discounts and benefits. Application Form  While some of these benefits are provided to appointed standing committee and task force members, appointed members are not required to become an affiliate.  Additionally, by becoming an affiliate you are not automatically appointed as a member of a standing committee or task force.  Visit Getting Involved for more information on standing committee and task force membership.

Student Affiliates are full-time students, age 35 or younger, of accredited post-secondary institutions.  Student affiliates receive all of the benefits of Individual Affiliates, but with a greater discount to attend TRB's Annual Meeting, plus additional discounts on single copies of most TRB publications. Application Form

Organizational Affiliates are organizations, institutions, and agencies committed to the advancement of knowledge about the nature and performance of transportation systems and their components.  Organizations can choose from three levels of benefits, depending on their needs.

Sustaining Affiliates are agencies and organizations, including individual corporations and businesses that support TRB at a level considerably higher than the direct cost of the publications and other services they receive.

TRB Sponsors
Core Program Sponsors are the major source of financial support for TRB's Technical Activities Division.  Federal, state, and local government agencies, and professional societies and organizations that represent the interests of various industry groups are eligible to be TRB sponsors.  The highest level of benefits TRB has to offer is provided to sponsors, including representation on the TRB Executive Committee.

Marine Board Sponsors
The Marine Board is supported by funding from various federal agencies who assist the Board in maintaining its unique role in identifying and responding to critical issues in the areas of water transportation (both ocean and inland), harbor and channel infrastructure and maintenance, port engineering and management, marine safety and environmental protection, shipbuilding and naval architecture, marine and coastal engineering, marine policy, and maritime economics.
